SHOW ME
A new multimedia work for internationally acclaimed pianist, Zubin Kanga. This new work for amplified performer, live video and piano looks at drawing the listener and viewer closer to the sensual physicality of the human body at a micro level, and the ability of the human body to imbue an object (the piano) with this same level of sensual potency. Experimenting with stage proxemics; amplified breathe; choreographed movement; voyeuristic live video of the performer’s body (particularly the mouth), and the performers body in relation to the piano, this work aims to push the performer to a state of exhaustion through its strictness of physical gesture and breathing pattern. We witness the break down of the performer’s mask revealing the vulnerable individual underneath.
